So I just bought a Nokia 2720A, but it seems to be SIM-locked to Movistar/Emoción. I'd like to use my T-Mobile card on it. Can I unlock it in any way?

(I can't go to a Movistar shop and tell them to unlock it, because that network isn't present in Hungary.)

Old phones AFAIK were generally unlocked either via codes or serial cables and software.

If you're lucky, you may be able to hunt around for a free way to unlock the phone using a code, but be careful, I knew someone who once wiped his IMEI because some a***hole posted a fake code.

One other option may be to contact the company online.
