Hacking How do I 'completely' remove a CIA?

Any way you could pass me some way to build a "legit" CIA and I could try to install it with CTRClient?

use FunkyCIA, but comment out the lines that zero out stuff :)
-- at least i think that should work, if not, then yeah...
but if it works for bundled games (it does, they work in sysnand fine) - then the same method should work for non bundled games (on the same 3ds). (but lol as i said it doesn't seem to...)

What line numbers are those?

if you are comfortable with opening it up in a text editor and looking around then i'll let you find it, it will be the only 2 or 3 lines next to each other setting things to zeros
i can't do it for you right now, sorry. i don't even have that old version myself, so the line numbers would be wrong

Code:
ticketData[tk+0x98:tk+0x9C] = binascii.a2b_hex('00000000')

Is that what I should be commenting?

If you read my replies earlier in the thread, that's what I did initially, I backed up the save and extdata with SaveDataFiler, then deleted the application through BigBlueMenu. However, eshop could still see the ticket entry for the MH3U I installed, so it wouldn't let me actually purchase it (it only shows 'To Redownload Screen' because it assumes I have bought the game when I haven't).

I'm trying the suggestion from earlier on, emunand is updating now, so I'll see if this fixes the problem.

My gateway save is at G-rank with 220 hours so I've been wanting to move it to CIA, I hope this works. Could have been largely avoided if there was a dump of the US version of MH3U that was bundled with the MH3U 3DS since pack-in games will run and be usable in any mode, but as far as I know there's only a EUR version uploaded.

Do I need to link my NNID again before I make the purchase? Or will it just link up automatically once I swap back to my usual SD and try to redownload?

A little necro... :)
Do you have to download the game after your purchase or you can just put it in sleep mode, cancel the download and swap back to your EmuNAND where everything is and properly download it this time?
Because I plan on using the 4GB sd card and with an EMuNAND it left very little space to download anything.

Do you think using a download code for the game would work? Also, do I have to remove NNID from my other emuNAND?
