Hacking How do I add cheats to a game Gateway?

I've got hold of a few cheat codes for mario kart 7 on the 3DS and want to add them, I'm unsure as to how this is done and wondering if someone here could point me to a tutorial please? I'm using a pal New 3DS XL and running gateway sysNAND 9.2 emuNAND 9.5. Thanks

Put the cheats folder into your red card's SD then the actual cheat files go into that folder. To activate them pull up the Gateway rom selector make the cheat menu L+R, start your game open the cheat menu and activate what you want.
