I swear to god, I am about to snap my monitor in half. After days of Google Translate, surfing Reddit and forums, downloading and re-downloading sketchy firmware packages, and lots of general anxiety I would love to get some help with this.

One of the cards I bought had a burned capacitor, which I promptly got a refund for. I didn't try to get a replacement, because I realized that that particular model had a timebomb (dodged a bullet there). Another card I purchased had a switch for installing a CFW (which works swimmingly, by the way), but none of the software on the site works for it at all (and the instructions are barely intelligible). I used to have a CycloDS way back in the day when I owned an original DS and it was a fantastic user experience, but that cart was lost to time... Ultimately, my goal is to play through Solatorobo again, which is a DSi enhanced game. It looks beautiful on my shelf, mint in-box, and I would like to keep it that way. I'm looking for a cart that is well constructed, has good looking software, easy to use, but above all can play DSi games without issue. I don't care about cost or any other features, although I'd rather not decimate my battery. Also it would be real swell if the cart didn't burn out my console for using mismatched voltages (I know that can sometimes be a problem with unauthorized 3rd party hardware).

TL;DR

The mission: load and play NDS and NDSi games on a n3DS via Slot-1.

The plan: if you were successful, please tell me how you personally purchased, downloaded, and installed hardware and software that works and provide direct links to everything I would need to replicate your scenario (CFW instructions not necessary).

Please and thank you!

Just in case anyone was wondering, here are a couple of shots of the cart I used to install my CFW. Maybe I can get it to work? But I can't find the website I got it from or the vendor's emails. The website listed on it (www dot r4ids dot cn) is a mess and I can't tell what the proper files for my device are, assuming this isn't some clone card. Frankly, I'm hoping to hear some success stories from other people and some recommendations for a superior look-and-feel / user experience, but I don't mind working with what I've got.

as far as i know, nothing will play dsi enhanced games, you could try finding it patched for ds mode and try launching it on twloader (an app for launching ds games through 3ds from sd card)

flash cards are tricky in how they put the dsi "i" in there, it's mainly for "this card will launch in ds mode on a dsi without failing" as opposed to "this runs pure dsi roms"

sorry man.

I have TWLoader already, but I get real bad lag on scene transitions and I don't have a donor card for saves (a flash cart probably wouldn't work). The plan is to use Forwarder3DS to create links to the games loaded onto my Slot-1 cart and pretend it doesn't exist. In the mean time, the pressing issue is to get a flash-cart working at all. I'll cross the DSi bridge when I get there.
