Hardware How active inline line on laptop?

Like the title I would to know how active this function on a notebook,which has only one slot for jack cable to input devices.
There is some settings on control pannel to become a device line in entrance? I need very much to do that

I believe that from what you say that you got a 4 pin 3.5mm jack, these carry mic and audio at the same time.

I don't know if is like you said a 4 pin but is sure inline line is not detected because when I plugged a device his audio is not recognized

You'll have to try it with a male 4 pin to female 3 pin Y adapter.
That will give you both Audio and Line in in one connector.

I've this jack.
I heard notebook has to have specified what is plugged into the slot because otherwise that hole is only an output point and not of input
I could buy the Y adapter but I think would be easier to go into realtek settings(I browsed on settings but don't found that) or active line in entrance in other ways

Isn't this an useful cable?
