2 questions:

1: Is everyone sure I can't increase fps on o/3ds even with ini files?

2: When the fuck is this thing getting optimised. It's been a year and no progress. I'm ready to do that shit tripod method.

1: You have already got your answer to this. No amount of asking is going to change this answer.

2: depends on if there are devs working on it. I would say no, the devs likely went to the switch.

Wait they moved to the Switch?

  1. The o3DS/2DS has a hardware limit of 21fps. It'll be never increased.
  2. You could ask @Sono if he'll ever update it... but my guess is that he will not.

Then how do you get 21fps?
Using a powerful enough PC, don't using WiFi PC-side (use ethernet), have a strong WiFi connection on the 3DS, and... I think that's it.
He stated in the original thread that to get on n3DS more than 63fps (the hardware limit) you should rewrite the entire program, so maaaaaayybeeeee… just maybe, rewriting the program to get rid of important processes (also making it more unstable) you maybe could get more than 21fps on o3DS, but that's is just an assumption, and I don't think it would work.

EDIT: Also, I just notice, wrong section. This shouldn't be in the Tutorials section, it should be in Homebrew Development and Emulators.

No, it's not possible.

NTR is already doing unstable stuff, like using kernel mode and making multiple copies of itself in various processes (like some sort of resident malware).

HzMod can't be optimized more without defeating its original purpose.

Also, a few notes:
- not all devs moved to the Switch
- those max FPS values are theoretical, and require a very specific result, and a compressor-specific "optimized pattern" (like a full-black or full-white screen)
- you won't make any dev update their software with that attitude
- you'd get better image quality at the same FPS your tripod is recording at

Edit: fine, I give in that HzScreen is slower than SnickerStream, but if I were to rewrite HzScreen it would be EVEN SLOWER, and the game would be conpletely unplayable, as you would be recording duplicate frames.
I actually have a modified HzNod somewhere, but the FPS increase is minimal (0.5FPS average is nothing), and it's so unstable that I never released it. I should edit the main post to reflect that.

The thing to learn here is that you can't beat a snail to run faster unless you overclock it, but it might explode and turn into charcoal.
(Translated: the CPU is too slow, and the wifi service is implemented improperly)
