Homebrew not loading apps

I'm having trouble getting Homebrew to work or load anything. Whenever I load it, it will just show a loading screen and nothing else. My SD card works on the Wii and is recognized. It also has the "apps" directory. I installed Homebrew using HackMii if that matters. I've looked at many solutions, but I always seem to meet their requirements. Can anyone help?

Is your sd card old? Regardless, make sure to check it with h2testw to make sure it's not faulty or dying. Back up your data beforehand.
Make sure it's formatted as Fat32 32kb cluster size.
Check the lock slider on the sd card adapter (if you're using micro sd card), make sure it's in the unlocked position. Or try with a different one altogether.

Are you using an sdhc or sdxc sdcard? It's recommended not to use a larger sdcard like 64gb or larger.

Yes, but it does not work with a 2gb card either

Then probably the sd card reader itself is very dirty, corroded/ bent pins or it's dying. Use compressed air to clean it, inspect the pins with a flashlight etc.
