benjay: somebody fixed my disc with a better overlay for the center circle and outer edge. I'd love to get that overlay if you know where it is.

It's done automatically

When you upload a full cover, the cover and 3D cover are generated from the full cover.
When you upload a disc or custom disc, transparency is added.
The original inner ring overlay image was done by nindim.

Thanks. Here is one for consideration. If everyone likes then I will make the rest for this.

Regardless of if/when USB loaders incorporate WW/VC, wouldn't the type of information that would be stored in the WiiTDB database be the same as it is now? I mean, you're already accepting entries for Homebrew (which, ironically, are the only titles that should really have the potential to cause any confusion, given their Cxxx ID's, which could conflict with the few C64 VC titles), so why can't you start accepting data for WW/VC titles? To hopefully find a good solution to the Cxxx issue first. Let's think about it first and not rush it, especially if there is a better and simpler solution soon.

As long as the entries are made using the true ID of the VC/WW (which the ISO creators should use as well), there shouldn't be any problems, right? I'm just not following. I must be getting feeble in my old age...

The true ID is 4 characters long, but for iso forwarders the ID would be 6 characters long, so it's not the true ID and madness ensues.
It doesn't make much sense to add "00" instead of the real 4 characters ID in the database, because it's a made up ID and as you said, there is now a high risk of conflict between IDs.
We could use "WW****" for WiiWare (well, "WWW***") and "VC****" for Virtual Console. Perfect, except that it's a made up ID too (even thought it's always easy to figure out the true ID part), and that the region letter is now at the end of the ID so Loaders wont detect the region of the iso without being modified for it.
Then, we could use the real ID for WW and VC, in a completely separate list. Now that's perfect, no conflict, except that iso forwarders would need the 6 character ID. maybe that's the way to go, a real list of real IDs.

Of course, given that there are no 'retail' full covers for WW/VC, that's where there might need to be some adjustments made, as they'll all be customs and I'm sure there will be more than one person who thinks they have the best looking one. Maybe WiiTDB will have to start judging the covers and picking the best, or set up some sort of voting ability. Or allow multiple custom covers and perhaps getting the loaders to incorporate some sort of cover selection from amongst the available choices (using thumbnails to save bandwidth). Those are the only types of difficulties I can foresee with regards to VC/WW titles.
As you said, it will also turn into a cover contest. Not that it wouldn't be fun, but it's a whole lot of custom covers for something that may not be used for very long. I understand it looks great having all the games available through the exact same GUI, but when banners are available in loaders, wouldn't the channel browsers with banners be the preferred choice to browse WW/VC? a channel browser doesn't need to look exactly the same as the system menu, it can be in 3D too.

Instead of doing hundreds of iso forwarders, with matching custom artwork that needs to be adjusted because the original artwork doesn't fit a DVD box, imagine a channel browser that would display the original artwork for the game. In WiiFlow or CFG Loader for example, when browsing channels, the box could be set to the size of the original boxes the system used : SNES boxes, CD-like for PC-Engine, VHS-like for Megadrive. In USB Loader GX, it could be a grid wall, much like what giantpune has been working on for Snes9x (who remembers snes96? 13 years already...). And all of this without a need to install iso forwarders, or create custom artwork. The original artwork could be used for VC. For WiiWare there is no official cover, so the first image of the banner could be used, or just the banner itself, without any 3D involved (it's animated, that must count for something?).
I have no idea if/when this will be possible though, but from the gossip it doesn't look too far away.

Is there anyway to have one ISO Forwarder that could read from a file. We could then put in a list of channels to forward to and when picking the ISO Forwarder a pick list would come up with the files. We would select what we want and off we go.

Alternatively I think Homebrew, and System Channels should be part of the loader itself as launching items. All others that are actually games should have covers. Just a thought.

Umm, I thought you asked him to make it NTSC? This is PAL as well.

i did not ask him to make one i stated he was using a PAL layout for an NTSC cover, did you try unhide/hiding layers?
So sorry about that. I'm not experienced with layers. Time to crack that GIMP ebook open.

Thanks.

I keep laughing my ass off, because everyone keeps using the stupid "Raving Rabbids" TitleID and Barcode, for their NTSC covers! Can we please get more creative people?

That's weird, I wonder why they didn't use the template on this thread instead.

If they're using the NTSC template in this thread, it has the Raving Rabbids TitleID and Barcode in the lower-right corner of the back side!

who gives a flying flip about the barcode. If you have to create a cover from scratch like for a forwarder you gotta use something. And why people gotta be so anal about it. It's just a flippen cover to click on.

While i'm ranting what I want is for preloader v.30 to be fixed. I'll take functionality first then appearance. Nothing against those who are working their butts off trying to fix it. Just ranting.

great work going on here this just makes the loaders even better but was wondering if it was possiable to make iso load the SD menu. I know that there is one for triforce but I just have too many problems with it and thought if this could be done would be easier for new pepole

I thought I remember seeing a custom iso forwarder for softchip, but after looking back thru the thread I didn't see it, could anyone point me in the direction of one or if it doesn't exist could someone with the technical knowledge create one.
SD://apps/softchip/boot.dol

Thank you.

It obviously seems that no one is willing to make stuff for us atm. I really want a ISO forwarder of DMP (Dragon Media Player).

I try and use the guide to throw it together when I have some time.

What type of compatibility do these apps have? I have some that don't seem to work in usb loader gx and others that don't seem to work in configurable usb loader.

Is there some setting I am not seeing?

Most of these if not all of these ISO's work on Wiiflow. I was using USB Loader GX for the longest time until this thread lol, Wiiflow is now my new favorite.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but here is a forwarder for Rock Band 2 that launches the retail disc so you can use DLC on the SD card (very handy if you want to launch the retail disc and you autoboot your USB loader instead of the SM). Thanks to spayrosam for his tutorial and files and the makers of softchip.
Instructions:
Install the RB2 iso, put the two folders in the root of your SD card, enjoy. It is named the same as the RB2 game so it should pull the cover and it includes the correct RB2 sound. It ran fine for me (4.2U, Wiiflow r17 222) with the default options.
