Hey,

today I installed the homebrew launcher for the first time on firmware version 11.9.0-42E (old 3ds) according to Jack Sorrell's guide on youtube. After that I tried installing cfw (frogminer method). I followed every step precisely and everything worked fine until I clicked on "BOOT patched DS Download Play". Now when I'm entering the steeldiver app/homebrew launcher I get the following message:

An exception occurred

Processor: ARM11 (core1)
Exception type: data abort
Fault status: Translation - page
Current process: menu (004003000009802)

However in the system settings, the firmware version is displayed like that: Sys 11.9.0-42E. Also, if I remove my SD card, my 3DS won't turn on. My game cartridges are still working perfectly fine though.

Does anyone know how to finish the cfw installation or to remove it to start from scratch?

I would be really glad, if someone could help me with this issue :)

You already have CFW (Luma, to be precise - and you didn't read the part of Luma's instructions where it says *hax payloads are incompatible), why are you trying to install it from scratch again?

You are saying that I have Luma but according to the guide it wasn't installed correctly:

"4. Power on your 3DS to launch the Luma3DS configuration menu
  • If your 3ds boots normally to the HOME Menu then boot9strap did not install correctly, please follow Point B from this guide."
Step B didn't help :(

What should I do next? Also I don't know what you mean by saying hax payloads are incompatible. Do you mean I have to wait until there is a otherapp payload for 11.9? I haven't found this text passage in the guide.

the two above quotes are proof that you have cfw installed so hax payloads wont work if you need to access homebrew
boot ds download play once open press "L" + "down" + "select" select the option to inject hb into the current app (may be under miscellaneous) once it succeeds press "b" until you are back in the app then press then home close the app and reopen it

Thats the step from section III according to the official guide (finalizing setup), right? But I haven't put fbi.cia, ctr-no-timeoffset.3dsx etc. onto the sd card yet (section I). Should I continue with the official guide?

9:16 /watch?v=O4UDNtsYBR8&t

The guy from the video opens up his hb launcher and chooses the option "RESTORE clean DS Download Play". This step doesn't work for me :(

Never follow Youtube videos! The only guide you really need is 3ds.hacks.guide . Period.
Does anyone know how to finish the cfw installation or to remove it to start from scratch?

Maybe it would be better to just remove cfw with gm9 and then to try again with the official guide? It seems like I have mixed up a couple of steps.

As noted, you already have CFW installed, so that would be the next step, yes. It's certainly a better idea than trying to remove cfw.
