Homebrew appstore won't install apps

I have everything set up correctly in my SD. (to my knowledge) - However, in the homebrew appstore, when pressing "A" to download an application, it does not install. It instead, goes back to the "all apps" section. I have had this problem before, and i am not sure how i fixed it. (my SD card is not locked)

Try going on your SD card and re-installing the Homebrew App Store. If that doesn't work, try unzipping the software you want directly onto your SD card with the Homebrew App Store on PC. You can search on Google to the site. If you have fast internet, you can download the software you want through the website and simply extract it to the root of your SD card.

I fixed it by launching a game on my home screen while holding R to boot into the homebrew launcher, then I launched Homebrew App Store from the homebrew launcher, clicked A on ”All Apps”, find where it says “HB App Store (Local)”, then click A to expand & tap the “Re-Download” button.

After re-downloading and re-installing, downloads starting working like normal
