Hex Editing Troubles

Hi there. I'm trying to find a way to remove the music from Sonic 1 for Genesis. The only way I could find was to open up the ROM in a hex editor. However, no matter how much I try to figure them out, I can never grasp hex-editors at all. Is there anyone who would be willing to do the following to a Sonic 1 ROM for me or at least walk me through how to do this? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

    If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
