Hacking Help with updating cfw

Hey guys

I've been away for a few months and am now updating my switch with atmosphere.
I got to the tutorial I used to follow to update cfw but now it has a step that says "

1. Make sure your sysMMC is up to date. If your sysMMC is not up-to-date, update it through the System Settings."

I don't remember doing this. Am I supposed to mess with sysMMC? Is it not just on emuMMC?

Whats the safest tutorial to follow?

No need to update sysmmc if you are not using it, or if you don't mind potentially being unable to play card games.

What guide recommends you to update you firmware before hacking? That is terrible advice. I don't advise you to follow whatever guide said that. Instead, try using this one.
