I have an HP pavilion a1012x agp and it have a 250w psu and I'm in search of a new videocard but they all need 350w.
I'm on a budget so does anyone know a good non expensive psu that will work with my PC to run a new card?

600W for 35 bucks. The bad thing is that if your planning on using a a PCI-E card that needs PSU connectors then your out of luck.

You know there is a huge difference in power supply brands?

If you had a clue on how important a power supply is to a system you wouldnt touch a no name brand ....

Even if it is listed as a cheap and references of "does the job" dont even think about it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

STOP RIGHT THERE!

DO
NOT
BUY
A
CHEAP
POWER SUPPLY!

If you buy a cheap PSU, and it decides to go one day. IT CAN TAKE EVERYTHING ELSE WITH IT! From your hard drive to the LED's on your case!

Or it could just fizzle out and cause no major problems.

You take that chance if you want to. If not get a corsair PSU. (or a seasonic as everything descent is usually a re-branded seasonic from my understanding.)

I'm personally going to have to go with epicelite on this one. Don't buy cheap stuff if it's the backbone of your whole computer. Obviously, yes, try to find a good deal (newegg is a good bet), but don't go cheap for the sake of being cheap.
