Few months ago, I traded in an old laptop (that we really did not need) for a broken ps2 slim. I put in a functional ps1 disc, and it attempted to read it but it said "disc could not be read." I figured it was the fault of the disc drive, and I saw that it was warn out, and that the metal linings were separating from the white cables. Just yesterday, I got a replacement drive and installed it. Even after pressing the sensor button, I saw that it wouldn't spin, and I could hear a rattling noise from a motor. In the browser, it also didn't seem to recognize that there was any disc. Without having to resort to booting from FMCB, how can I fix this?
