Hardware Help with o3ds top screen

So I've been trying to figure this out for about a week now. My top screen just mysteriously stopped working. It still works perfectly fine in ds mode, but as soon as I exit, it's just black. No backlight or anything.

It's immediate. It doesn't show anything before it goes black.

There were some suggestions by people in this thread that you could try. I personally tried leaving my 3ds off for about 2 hours or so, which made my screen functional for about 1-2 minutes. Once I got into the home menu I would immediately launch a game/title and so long as I didn't insert a DS cartridge, the screen would remain functional. Persisted even after reboots.

I don't know if my testing will work with your issue but it could be worth a shot.

So leaving it off didn't do anything. I'm trying the battery thing now. If none of that other stuff works, I don't know what the hell I can do. I know it's not the ribbon cables since it works in DS mode. I may just end up buying a new 3ds if I can't figure anything out. I've been wanting to get one for a while anyways. Thanks for the suggestions.

No luck with removing the battery. I guess I'll just fuck around with it in ds mode until I can get a new one.
