Help with iPhone 2G

I have a jailbroken iPhone 2G to OS 3.0. It doesn't turn on past the apple logo, and it shuts off. Connecting it to a PC does nothing, it doesn't register. Please Help me to fix it!

That just force shuts it down?

Try putting it into DFU and restoring it from there.

Sorry, but what's DFU? And I did that home power button reboot already and it didn't work.

DFU Mode (short for "Device Firmware Upgrade") is basically a failsafe in case of issues like failed updates. Despite the name, it is often used to downgrade iDevices.

To enter DFU Mode, connect the iPhone to your computer and turn it off. Hold the Sleep and Home buttons for ten seconds, then let go of the Sleep button ONLY (keep your finger on the Home button until recognized as being in DFU Mode).

If done correctly, your computer will identify the device as an "Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)" and the iPhone's screen should be completely off (no backlight, no images).

Turn off your iPhone and hold down the power and home button until you see the Apple logo appear, release the power button but continue holding down the home button down until it goes into DFU (White screen means it's working) then open iTunes and it should say it has found your device in restore mode, from there you can restore the firmware.
