Hacking Help with CFW error

My Brother has a New 2ds XL ( pokeball edition)
it has BS9 with luma but i couldnt tell you what version as my brother has not turned his console on in months and he updated the console as soon as he turned it on and now the console as soon as you switch it on gets an error

"An error has occured:
Failed to apply 1 FIRM patch(es)
press any button to shut down"

how do it fix it please?

Replace the boot.firm on the sd card with the latest one released.

Don't forget to update the failsafe on CTRNAND.
Depending on what is currently on your console, you might also want to update GodMode9 and FBI (links both on the finalizing page).
