Hacking Help on Savegame migration

Hi, I got an O3DSXL with b9s and Luma and have an incoming N3DS with also b9s and luma, both on 11.5, now, I only have interest on having my Monster hunter 4 ultimate savegame restored, all else can go kaput, no problems there.

I saw some tutorials on the Internet but most are from the a9lh times and I´m not sure they still hold.

Can someone point me to a right direction? Thank you all!

Use JKSM on the old console and backup the save and extdata. On the N3DS, copy the JKSM folder over and use JKSM to restore the save and extdata.

Does it have to be the exact same CIA?
My copy is legally purchased, that means I got to make a CIA out of it, right?

I read a lot of Save data filer, JKSM would be?

No it does not. JKSM is a save data manager.

Thanks, will try it out as soon as my N3DS arrives, on a similar note, does it work on Sky3ds? My Wife has one for MH4U only and would be good to get rid of that.

You can back up the save from a Sky3DS game as long as you are using the same rom (if you don't have the Sky3DS card and the same rom or the header that the room was patched with you can't export the save). Follow a similar process to https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ except replace where it says to select the game on the menu to pressing the button on the Sky3DS card.

If you just want to play the game using the Sky3DS in another console just copy the sav file over.

Yeah, I meant using it now as a CIA, so for hers I do have to convert the .3ds to .cia?
If so, can I do it from PC, I have the rom saved.

Follow the above guide to extract the save from the Sky3DS so you can import it into a cia version. You don't have to convert that rom, any source for the cia will work (probably has to be the same region). And remember for Monster Hunter you need the extdata too.
