I want to try out the new CFW luma3ds because I heard that you can install gba cias on it without the need of it installed on both emunand and sysnand, I currently have CakesFW but questioned, will I lose my current Emunand with my games and saves if I do move to luma3ds? Also, will I be able to install GBA CIAs only on Emunand?

EmuNAND itself is not custom firmware. It's a clone of sysnand, which is a stock and factory fresh image.
Custom firmware also has nothing to do with games other than patching the NAND to skip Nintendo security checks to boot up the game. You can switch custom firmwares just fine.
