Hardware HELP! How to Sync Wii remote when console has a broken Sync Button?

Hi all! I have an old Wii with a broken sync button. In the past I opened it up and shorted the sync button to synv a Wii remote. I don't want to do that.

Can I use software to put console in sync mode? We can reset, power up and down and even eject the disc with hombrew.. any do the sync button?

Where is the wii remote sync file stored on the console? Can I edit it or anything?

I have another Wii, could I back up the broken Wii's NAND in bootmii, run it in EmuNAND (NEEK ) on the good Wii, Sync it there, and copy the sync file back the broken Wii? Maybe the entire nand backup?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance. It's been like 8 years like this..

I can think off using emunand on dolphin, sync wiimote ther, and copy the updated Wii/shared2/sys/SYSCONF back to your wii afterwards.

Other than that, i don't know...

Okay, TY. So the remote info is in the SYSCONF file...

Originally it was through normal use. I took it to some schmuck to repair it. One foot was broken. He pulled the other one off and decided it was too small for him to solder... It's been this way for almost a decade.

What Homebrew app can copy this file over without a wii remote? I can access the HBC and I have GC controllers..

-You can try use wiixplorer. If not:



you can use usbloaderGX with a gamecube controller (i think)....


-Create emunand there on you usb device, based of your sysnand.
-that emunand will be used on dolphin
-sync your emunand on dolphin, and see if the sysconfig files has changed
-put back you usb device on your wii, load usbloaderGX, launch a game (emunand saves full setting), see if wiimote is synced.
