Hardware HDMI into a headphone jack

Since my headphone jack on my laptop is broken I was wondering if there was a device or something that I could use to make the HDMI port into something I can just use for my headphones or something. I found the same type of devices I'm describing for the USB ports but I really don't want to use up a port just to listen to things.

Eh... no.

There is this thing called HDMI audio de-embedder where it extracts HDMI audio into optical or AUX connector but those thing cost $100 and above.

For the record, get Xonar U3. That cheap USB DAC you posted is crap.

Just to ask- does the headphone port double up as a SPDIF (red light coming out of it is a giveaway) because conversion kits there are far more common/less temperamental and if it is just the metal rings that are broken (headphones in when moving around) you might still be good

HDMI is typically somewhat digital and that can trouble things but there are options

They end up a bit more fiddly with various devices and as trumpet-205 said they can get expensive.

I would also avoid most USB sound cards unless you have a good reason to get one (and simple playback is rarely a good one).

I've never had a good, stable, clean audio stream via Bluetooth. I've tried a few different headsets with everything from USB Bluetooth dongles to high end phones. BT3.1 was just never good enough (and I don't notice EDR helping anything).
