Gaming Hardware Homebrew HDD newbie question

I dont have a spare HDD and cant buy another one right now so all my injected wii and wii u games are on the wii u nand. Now i dont have any space.

I have a HDD that i used for my xbox one and I dont need it for the xbox anymore. Before i do anything dumb, can i use the HDD for the wii u? I did a bit of research and xbox uses a diff format.

If i clean out the HDD and put it in my wii u will it work? Will the wii u automatically reformat the HDD or do i need to use my computer to do so?

The Wii U will reformat it. Ofc. all data will be lost.
Also the Wii U will format it to a format neither your PC nor the XBox are able to read.
