I'm using USB loader GX

My hard drive if in WBFS.

WBFS Manager sees my drive fine, all my backups accounted for.

Yet when I load USB Loader it accesses the drive but fails to load it up. I can see the led flashing but it doesn't initialise.
The only thing I've done is remove 3 IOS STUBS

Ok, i know what i did wrong but i'm not sure how i sort it. I was following a guide which advices removing a couple of STUBs

https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/how-to-use/dop-ios

"3) In the new IOSs menu, go to one of the stub IOSs that is installed (you can see that on the right under "currently installed', as it will show "(STUB)" then).
If you found a stub IOS you want to uninstall, press - (minus), then A to confirm.

Usually, people uninstall IOS202,222,223,249 and 250 if these are stubs."

However removing 202 seems to have taken out support for my HDD which now will not load up, can someone tell me how i add it back?

Happy to provide what ever info is needed, I think i'm running IOS 58 v6176

Hello.:)

Would you be so nice and can you post a sysCheck from your Wii please ?
Please use this Link to the GBAtemp Thread
how to use and make an sysCheck.:)

It creates the File "sysCheck.csv" on the Root of your Wii SD Card.

You can post it in your next Answer please. If you can not attach it,please copy the Content from the sysCheck.csv File
in your next Answer. You can use the Windows Editor to open the File.

With that we can look on your Wii´s IOS/cIOS Configuration and we can try to help you further please.

Good Luck and
Thank you.:)

I certainly shall, my wii is currently making a nands backup. I thought making one now might be a wise idea, as it's been 5 years since i messed around with the console in this way and I'll be honest. I'm not entirely sure what i'm doing, IF i did, i might not have gone and uninstalled 202 from my Wii and taken out the darn HDD.

I'll get back with that system report ASAP!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

its is normal for the backup to be slow? I'm on 92 or about 4000+ and it's been about 20 minutes

It usually takes some Time, depends on how "full" your Wii´s Memory is.:D

Seriously,a complete Backup should take about 10-15 Minutes.:)
( I have tried it actual,it was ready in 10 Minutes + 5 Minutes to Verify the Backup).
Do you have many BLACK (Bad) BLOCKS ?
Or maybe your SD Card is "not ok".

Thank you.:)

Thank you for the sysCheck.:)

According to it,unfortunately you missing the important cIOSes for the USBLoaders/Game Loading:

IOS249[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Please use the d2xcIOS Installer which is mentioned in the Guide from your Link and install this two cIOSes.:)
Then try your HDD/USBLoader please.
Which One do you use please ? And which Version please ?
If you be so kind, can you give us Feedback then please ?

Good Luck and
Thank you.:)

Yeah, I was about to say "install cIOS", but it was already mentioned. You'll need the d2x cIOS installer and use those cIOS'es to load from USB.

EDIT: My other suggestion is to switch away from WBFS and use FAT32, there's no benefit to using this obsolete file system. FAT32 enables Wii, GC and Homebrew loading, meanwhile WBFS only supports Wii backups.

Once i get the wii working properly, I plan on moving over to vfat. I've read it's much more reliable and i would like to run GC games.
Good choice! I normally recommend setting FAT up straight away since the WBFS config and the FAT config are a little different, but I suppose getting things going first is a good start.

When I set up the Wii originally some years back, I don't think FAT32 was an option, not that i recall. I've kept with it because it's always worked.

All this stemmed from the fact I couldn't get Double Dragon wad to work, keeps black screening and freezing my console.

As instructed I loaded up d2xcIOS and input the settings as directed
cIOS <v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52>
Base <57>
slot <249>
revision <65535>

and

cIOS <v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52>
Base <56>
slot <250>
revision <65535>

I then reset my console and tried running the USB Loader GX, the hard drive loaded up at first not recognising the partition, but after going in the settings and clicking on where it said "0.0GB". The Wii refreshed and found my 500gb drive.

I am however finding that my Wii wont now run Wheel of fortune, I've only played it once before and i dont recall if i had this issue back then or not. I've posted the the USB Loader thread in hopes someone has and answer.

Thank you.:)

Wheel of Fortune (PAL and NTSC Version) works for my NTSC and PAL Wii after I set/disabled
Game Settings - Game Load - Nand Emulation -> OFF
(Before I had the Black Screen on both Versions).

Thank you.:)
