I've had success backing up all my other games:
Pokemon Black
Dragon Quest IX
Mario Kart
Rune Factory 3
Final Fantasy III and IV
among many others.

However, when I try to backup NSMB DS using wood dumper, the following appears on screen:
-------------------------
Reading header...
card id: 0x0
Header readed...
Reading secure area...
secure cardid fail: 2f11d799
secure area readed...
Init finished: (v00) (0)
card init fail. Extract card
-------------------------

So there seems to be an issue with the secure card id.... I'm still quite new to this.

Also, there are rare occasions that when I attempt to backup NSMBDS it'll just be stuck on reading secure area.
But the part I descirbed further above happens almost every time.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this or an alternative to try?
I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Well, don't let anyone tell you persistence never pays off!
I'd been trying to get it to work for almost two hours, and, literally just as I posted my topic, it worked.

So, if anyone else has this issue, perhaps you should just keep trying, lol.

I still wonder what it might have been... I cleaned the cart a while ago.
Perhaps it was just not making contact well.
Oh, you know what they say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

This is not that an unusual problem when dumping games. I've personally had quite a few problems with WiFi dumpers because the dumping processes can be stopped by small things including walking past the router and such. Good that you got it working, should work like a charm in the long run!
