Hacking Hard Drive Question

Quick question about the USB/HD Loader...

Has anyone ever tried using a Hammer HU 110 640GB HD on the Wii? According to NewEgg, there's a Hitachi Model HDT721064SLA380 Sata 3.0 Gb 7200rpm in it. Neither products are listed in the Wii USB Device Compatability List.

I read that most Hitachi Hard Drives work OK with the Wii. Does the Hammer enclosure make a difference? Sorry if this seems like a silly topic, but I'd like to know before the sale ends.

i've read more than a few posts where people state the enclosures very much make a difference...so caveat emptor.

I've tested two of these enclosures and they both worked fine on the wii. If you've got a spare hard drive laying around, try this case.

Thanks for all the replies, and I'll consider some of the HDs shown.

But I'm still interested to see if anyone has used the Hammer enclosure. 640GB for $60 is a good price!

not to be unhelpful. but what's the point of a 7200rpm hard drive in a usb enclosure?
