it probably was a blank cart and I doubt it even had a picture in the DS menu.

They did more than skinning goldeneye. They added lots of models and created a map that looks exactly like it does in halo 2, this would not be easy. I couldn't see him spending all that time making something like this just for a joke.

it looks like a proof of concept that some professional developers built for a company to see how it would work on the DS hardware(using the goldeneye engine). I guess it's possible that it could be a homebrewed hack of goldeneye but I've never seen a hack that elaborate on DS and if a homebrewer did it than why wouldn't they release it to the public?

The best theory I have heard yet was that its likely a demo built to pitch the game as a concept built on the same engine as Golden Eye…

Actually Microsoft just published the game, so Bungie could team up with a different publisher and release the game on a Nintendo console but Microsoft probably stepped in since they're partners. That's what the Microsoft does best. Controlling companies with money.

it was confirmed over a year ago, it's existence was mentioned many times, and now you have videos and screenshots for the game.

it looks similar to goldeneye? well DERP, they're both FPS's so ofcourse they'll look similar, and who knows, they might've been the ones making the game that IGN can't mention.

Edit: it looks really good! Kinda like Goldeneye: Rogue Agents... But good! The graphics are awesome, and I'm sure it'll play really well.

That would be a good idea.

Yeah, they could just change the textures and character design slightly, call the entire game "Alien Wars DS", and sell it. They already have a huge viral marketing campaign rolling: Halo DS is the talk of the (DS-oriented) Internetz! So when the game comes out: "ZOMG Alien Wars DS was supposed to be Halo DS but Microsoft wouldn't let them! I gadda play this!!"

Since you have got to have the source code to create a game, and homebrewers don't have the source.

I also think that the average homebrewer doesn't have the skills or the time to make this kind of game

But(there is a butt), i don't think Bungie(who is a Microsoft company) is really doing a game for DS. I mean, Microsoft, guys ! These guys could sue you because you hacked Windows 3.0 !

It looks alot like Golden Eye Rogue Agent for the DS. I mean the way you change weapons, the touchscreen (radar plus position of weapons), the way the AI walks.. Hell yeah even the text that appears when you want to pick up a weapon..

But I finished it while I still thought it was cool.

The sounds in that movie = goldeneye...
The little crosshair thing = goldeneye
the font = goldeneye
the crappy gameplay = goldeneye
