I understood how to create a miniFC font file, I succeeded in creating a font file that can display all titles including Japanese titles.
Even if we use it for games, I want you to be relieved as I used fonts with no problem for rights.
However, since the number of characters is very far, there is a disadvantage that the character becomes small.
Currently, I am working on a kit that can scan the games folder and create a font file.
I expect that a function that can select a font file from a folder will be implemented.

Could you possibly pm me with more help? I have been trying to get these games to work forever and watched a few of the videos but im not grasping it. I just really want to play my childhood favorites again especially Holy Diver. Always wanted to try splatterhouse and japenese star wars and Boku Dracula kun

Thank you
HI Jomamma

Where/what are you struggling with? I am thinking of just doing a how to patch video, I have to be careful with YouTube as I don't want any strikes so cant say where to obtain the roms etc, i'll drop you a pm with some info I have sent another guy, how to patch is in the video so as long as you have all the pieces (roms, patches, software) you should be good to go

If you could send me a message that would be great.

I understand to get the flips tool, the language isn't a huge deal to me because I can read Japanese to an extent. Changing the mappers is whats giving me a bit of trouble.

Tank you so much for all of the help I appreciate you.

Latest release already contains Japanese font.

@Cluster , your effort is amazing! You got a place in the NES Classic Edition (and the gamer community) history, no doubt about that. You made this little device more fun for everyone!

Thanks a lot! ;-)

I'm loving this tool! Great work Cluster! One question for anyone who knows: I have only a Famicom Classic system (still trying to find a way to buy a NES Classic for a reasonable price). The one game I cannot get to work that should is the original StarTropics. The sequel, StarTropics 2, works just fine with the patch Cluster provides.

I have tried both the music fix patched version of StarTropics as well as the unmodified version, but it always gives no sound and won't let me register a new save file to begin the game... I find it odd that this game does not work when it is included with the NES Classic Edition.

Does anyone know a way to get StarTropics to work on the Famicom Classic (I would prefer to use the Music fix patch, but any way to get the game running will do...)? Thanks!!

The whole roms things is a grey area. I don't want any issues myself.

Maybe someone should work on a nes mini working roms pack.

Just a idea:D

Planning to finally give it a try this weekend. But I'm still wondering about one thing. Do I keep my current save states when using this tool or are they lost?

Hello, amazing work. With my cousing we won 2 consoles in facebook competition and he found this on youtube.
After reading forums and watching YouTube I tried your software with little fear and it works :-) Thanks, because one game that I was missing is Bomberman and now i have it. My young cousing is happy, we waiting for 3m extension cables from ebay so he will like button combination to reset which was added in last version 2.10. And I see that you added epilepsy protection option for games, wow, BTW google for Pokemon seizure scene which was banned.
And thanks for e-mail expalnation how to use UART.

You are a king in programming :teach: I edited original smiley there:

Not sure Edrick I have a European mini and as you say its built in, the only rom sets I have are USA and a Euro one, have you tried the European rom?

Question about Rom games with save files. I just saved a game using the Save ability that came with the game, but when I tried to load it, nothing happened. Are other games with save back ups not going to save? Should you just always use the suspend points? The game I was playing was ROTK 2

Every game with a save backup I have tried has worked fine, but that particular game may have an issue I'm not aware of so try to use save states instead with that one until you figure it out.

@Cluster

Is it feasible to add support for Shinobi, Arkanoid and Arkanoid II or are the mappers impossible to handle ?

Another question: if additional mappers can be added, how about supporting multicarts ? This would allow many games in a single slot and therefore, a lot of more games in the whole collection. I already asked about this but now that a lot more can be done with the NES Classic, I wonder if we should not try this option (if it's ever possible). My favorite multigame (which I bought new back then) is 31-in-1.

I would really like to have Holy Diver and Splatterhouse. Any way you could send me a PM too?

Your saves will not be lost even if you flashed another kernel or deleted game at all.

There are many ROMs with incorrect header on Internet (and in GoodNES too). To use battery-backup ability ROM should contain battery-backup flag in header.

It's impossible to add support for other mappers while we using original emulator. But it's possible to port some games on other mappers.

Arkanoid is playable I think is the USA version.

Rgs.

@Cluster
It's possible to make a EUR patch to USA for solve the PAL 50Hz speed up in some games or enable the EUR options in Mini NES emulator?

This game only have EUR version and is playable but I note that music isn't like original :(

Thanks for all!

Rgs.
