My Nintendo switch which has SXOS loaded on to it recently died.

I am looking to buy a new one, but have some concerns, it has been a while since I last hacked my first one, is this still possible to do with the new ones? I heard they have been patched by Nintendo is there a way around this? I don't play online I have a few cartridge games id still like to be able to play. Other than that I want to load up onto an external card like before.

Apologies if this has been asked before just want to know my options before shelling out nearly £300 on a new Switch! :)

TIA

Buy one used. Ask eBay sellers for the serial number and check them on https://ismyswitchpatched.com/ to find one that is RCM exploitable. You can buy just the tablet, it will save you some money.

No I had it checked over the CPU has failed on it so wasn't repairable
If your good, you can un-solder that Sx chip out n re-use it maybe....esp since they are so hard to find nowdays, or bet someone be willing to buy it from you as is.

I was going to put it on eBay for spares, but moving forward i want to source a new replacement preferably. But seems like it might be a mission to find one.

You can search on eBay for an unpatched or v1 Switch but then its a case of trying to obtain a license for SXOS if you want to continue to use the software. When I last looked, they went for about £180 for console only.

If you buy a brand new one now, you'll also need to try to find a SX Core chip which is really rare. There was someone on eBay selling them for £100 but I haven't seen a listing recently. If you do find a chip, you'll also need to get it installed (which is a very fiddly job and no one is advertising that service anymore after the big N crackdown)
