Hacking Hacking a New 2DS XL?

Hey guys, I plan on getting a New 2DS XL and want to hack it, but I am extremely spooked about bricking it. I've been told to refer to the main 3DS hacking site for instructions to do so, but I came across a YouTuber a while back who seems to know what he is doing. His channel link is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDUBppdZBxVlLIL6-8zbOOA . Does anyone know how safe it would be to follow his tutorials over the ones on the main site? Are they the same and has anyone hacked their own DS using his videos? Also, should I make a NAND backup before doing anything or do I have to follow certain steps before I can do that, just want to not brick the device. Thanks in advance.

https://3ds.hacks.guide is the safest and most up-to-date guide in the 3DS scene, and will walk you through every step.
If you're comfortable with written guides I would recommend this over any video guide.
