Let's be honest, nothing's going to come from this, you think developers and other people haven't opened up the DS and done absolutely everything to it?
You can at least encourage the guy? Better have more people working on it then few. If he finds nothing of value, so beit and if he does, well then it benefits us all. Why should it affect you? Don't assume stuff.
No point encouraging something if nothing will come of it, he will just open it, fiddle around with a few things and then he will give up, considering the millions of other people probably doing this, i'm not sure one more person will significantly increase the chance of success, and last time i checked, everyone's entitled to their own opinions.
How do you know that? Maybe something will come of this project. Maybe nothing will come. Why complain? He didn't promise anything. I also don't think much will come of this but better to hope then complain. Nothing wrong with him attempting.

Well said, it's his choice.

From Despair.com:

"No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood."

It only takes one

Wish you luck.

You know, there aren't millions of people who are modding their DSi. Most are probably screwing around with the old Phats. Besides, modding teams are looking for the same old things. If we get some new people in, we'll get some new ideas.

Anyway, but sure to post here if you find anything of interest.

I was waiting for someone to say this.
Still, if he bought it so cheap he probably has more intention of gutting it inside out to find some secrets, instead of being careful that it'll still work when he's done.

And maybe he's doing this for fun. Electronics are fun to tear apart, so you guys should cut the guy some slack

he hasn't replied anything yet, so i think he hasn't found anything intresting. I hope he did find something intresting and he's now fiddeling with it. Even if it's a hardmod, it's a step forwards in dsi hacking.

Bullshit. I call bullshit.

All you seem to be doing is fiddling with the system on the inside. You haven't released a video despite the fact that you have a video camera and a Youtube account.

I doubt anything good will come of the project. Looked promising at first but now it seems to be crap.

Hmph, I won't get excited until I see any results.

And....not to be prejudiced and all but you seem somewhat young to accomplish something that people way older then you didn't.

Too ambitious?

There really isn't any reason for this thread. If he finds a way to hack it that's great but just telling us he is trying seems pointless to me.

Agreed. It's not like any solutions were or have come out of this thread.

Next thing y'know he's gonna say his PS3 can play backup games because he threw it in the dishwasher.

it has a firmware i looked through some dsi hacking topic on here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=193...t=0&start=0
and im starting to think youre some guy that happans to have a screw driver and thinks that cos hes got a screw driver hes a mechanic

im not against you hacking the dsi but do it properly instead of opening it up and sayin oooooh it has a wire lets cut it then cuming out and sayin it has no fw

plus asoft mod would be better
so have u tryed getting a big group 2gether to get the key ? i would get brute forcer along withalot of other people and open up about 3 of them on your pc and see i if it turns out better (more searches = more chance of getting common key)

One day, I will open a pawn shop and sell Nintendo DSi systems to people looking to "hardmod" their DS, but mine will cost an even $60 and I'll make a fortune

The fact of the matter is, unless you are trying to do something specific, or looking for something specific, nothing will come of this. If you want to see the inside of a DSi, there are plenty of videos and pictures online. Screwing with knobs and wires will just leave your DSi broken, and the pawn shop owner richer.

Just enjoy your DS, they're a lot of fun, even without modding it

This has already been done. Search for the "DSi Hardware Prob" thread.

just goin getting a dsi ripping it open then sayin the first fing that pops into ur mind is wrong it proballyhas a firmware but if you give me a vid and proof it hasnt got firmware then i will concede i was wrong but
it will most likely need firmware for storing your birthday favorite colour and stuff like that for games like Animal Crossing
