Anyone caught that while playing Hotel Dusk?
I thought it was amusing seeing that name mentioned.
Cing is a Capcom fan?

...I'm going to guess you're a bit on the young side?

Gumshoe is a term for detective... so is dick.

Dick Gumshoe is a play on those terms, and "gumshoe" being mentioned in Hotel Dusk is most certainly a straight up colloquialism, not a reference to our favorite underpaid PW character.

SO that's a piece of archaic slang, but not so archaic to be used by Humphrey Bogart?

I've heard: private eye, dick, snoop, flatfoot, sleuth, bloodhound, bird dog, dog, and several more I can't remember, but I've never heard "gumshoe" before...

This is a word that has been used a lot in the past in the United States. I do not know if it is common or used in other countries.

I am not much of a detective, no clue on all the slangs flying around.
So, Dick Gumshoe, I assumed that was simply a name.

Did Gumshoe get officially fired from police force at the end of PW2? I don't remember the story giving much details into what happened to him afterward (due to him helping Pheonix too much.)
