On wiki, they said Flashme only lets you play homebrew DS roms, not commercial. Is that true?

I just need this straighten out to see if I'll flash my DS or not.

Also nice guide, Opium.

Then wiki is mistaken. It'll let you play commercial roms, anything. As long as it's a DS rom file you can play it without the need of a passme when you have flashme installed.

The wiki is techinically correct flashme does not allow you to play commercial roms straight up.

However should you patch them they will work fine.
Now there are a multitude of patchers both for certain cards: M3/G6/Supercard/EZ (different for all cards in range)/Neoflash(they are responsible for the GST roms you will see around)/the EFA cards have it as well I think.........

There is also 2 generic ones called loadme and ndspatcher which you can use of most generic flashcarts.
Loadme is the best of the generic ones although nowhere as good as some of the cart locked ones above and you can grab it here:
http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/LoadMe

You may also see prepatched roms and some patches around such as New Super Mario Brothers, Tetris DS (it is an IPS patch for the US version) and Mario Kart.

@scrapple Yeah that combo should work, just make sure to use the June 19th loader as it sorts issues with nopass variants.

If you've ever thought about installing flashme on your DS or DS Lite but didn't understand the installation process, fear not! GBAtemp.net has the guide for you.
This guide will provide you with the files you need, instructions, tips and even a video all about flashme.

Click HERE to read the guide.

I want to thank you for the excellent guide. Because of your guide I built up my confidence and flashme 2 ds lites!!

I was sweating bullets but it worked out great. I tried the nail trick with tape but it never got passed 0%. Then I used my screwdriver with tape wrapped around it. That worked much better. I can say that if your ds-lite never turns off during the process it will be ok. Just DON'T turn it off. I had to wiggle my screwdriver 10 times during the flash process to continue. All in all it was easy. But I still say it is a scary feeling during the flashing.

If it's not posted in there (don't think it is...) before anyone freaks out about having bricked their system, first try this:

Reboot the system with the flashcard in while holding A+B+Select+Start. If you get the flashcard menu you're in good shape and then will have the chance to reflash your DS. If you don't get the flashcard menu, go here:
http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2648
It's a cheap solution to fixing a bricked DS - as this guy claims that the DS is UNBRICKABLE!
