The game does have online multiplayer.
There are:
Defend the base, coop
Death race
Race
Gang bang, a bit like bomb the base on gta 4,
Survivor mode, which is deathmatch
The game also scored 94%

From the magazine it's confirmed and The wording is:

"Survivor mode is the standard multiplayer deathmatch played either over wifi with a nearby Chinatown Wars-owning pal or online."
