You can still buy ps3 psp and ps vita games, but only from the actual hardware. Doing this plus taking away the wishlist makes no sense though. Sony trying to scrub way its legacy.

hasn't the psp store closed? you can still download pkg files from its servers. those may never be removed. you can access psp all the way up to ps4 games through the pc without any verification. major fuck up by sony. doesn't really affect me though. I just pirate on all systems but the switch, so if nintendo had done this, it would've been very disappointing for me as I buy games on the pc eshop almost exclusively.

Very true. The psp store closed over 100 years ago.

I don't know if it's all psp games, but I wrote a tutorial about getting the smallest game possible for adrenaline, when you needed a base game. the smallest psp game is one of the half-life demos weighing in at like 3MBs or less. anyway, once you download it from the psn store, the god link will appear in a separate file inside your account. no idea if that's a fuck up by sony or why that's even in there, but it only works for psp games afaik.

I meant half-minute hero actually. I forgot the name of the demo, but it's probably mentioned in the tutorial. it's in my final vita tutorial iirc.

btw, I'm learning about the psx classic (off topic), and it mentions in the instructions that the open button is to swap discs. I'm going to see if I can hide disc 2+ for games, so that it doesn't look tacky in the list of games. what's funny is that the instructions explicitly state that the open button doesn't open the console. lmao! man, there must be some stupid people out there if someone suggested putting that in there.

Pretty sure PKGI/PKGJ use CDN, not Sony web and mobile store.

might be able to tell for sure by looking at the .db files in the pkgi folder of ux0. don't open them with the sqlite browser like you would normally. I'm not sure how they'd look in cells.. use notepad++

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I just checked. the normal, god links are in there. they're no longer in .db files but rather in tsv only, so you can open them in notepad++. they're also in pkgj now (no longer pkgi). here's what I got (I hope it's okay since those aren't full god links):

I'm pretty sure they're both using the same links: cdn and pkgj. the way to get the links is with a proxy. the only thing that's going to change is how you access them. sony is the most incompetent of the big three when it comes to anything online. however, like with any system, someone has to buy the content to get the link and the license. there's a logic to updates, which we can get regardless, but base games are random alphanumerics. afaik, there's no way to bruteforce them unless you want to wait thousands, if not millions, of years due to shear number of combinations.

The web version of the new PlayStation Store will launch on October 21, while the mobile version will launch on October 26. Following this update, you will no longer be able to buy PS3 games and add-ons, PSP games and add-ons, or PlayStation Vita games and add-ons. This means the only way to purchase PS3 games will be booting up a PS3 console. And the same applies to PSP and Vita.

Most PS Vita first party games were junk Anime based one's so not much to miss anyway.

But speaking about all those great Indie games, well I'm sad actually.

Most of the games got ported to the Switch and some made it to PC. If anything its best to grab any vita exclusives just incase.

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

    Tandem even

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
