PS1/2 Good LCD TV for PS3

Hi everyone =)..

I need to bring serious decision and buy HD Ready or FULL HD TV... I am not sure which one to buy...
So i wanted to ask are new PS3 games are in 1080p resolution and how games with 720p look on 1080p TV?
Should i buy HD Ready or FULL HD TV for my ps3? And which model i should buy ? I can spend max $1000...
I also have xbox 360 so that's important for me too since from what i heard most of games for 360 are in 720p =)

For the earlier games, they run on 720P. For the games ahead and in the future, we can expect them to run in 1080P.

The choice is yours, really. I'd buy any Sony or Samsung HDTV. Don't compromise quality/price on HDTVs, they're a worthy investment.

you can find a 1080p Sony BRAVIA 32" for about 550$ or a 40" for 700$...i can't really answer your question about how games look because to me they look really good but i'm not someone who finds how a game looks to be really important.I play my PS3 on a 65'' 1080p Samsung with a HDMI cable and all games look good imo.

Anyway the vast majority of games on the ps3 are still 720p, so you shouldn't feel like you are missing out on anything major if you don't go with 1080p. Besides the difference between the two is not that great, especially if you are going for a 40" or smaller screen.

Umm...why? Doesn't plasma have a shorter lifespan and have burn in problems? Although, plasmas are probably cheaper now due to a lack of demand and the benefits of LCD.

I agree that Plasmas have better color.
I personally own an LG 1080p with 120hz.
I absolutely love it, and I havent noticed any ghosting or back light bleeding what-so-ever.

I have a 360, but a friend's PS3 looks just as nice if not better on the TV.
Sony and Samsung are the 2 top rated LCD sellers I believe, but LG is a good bit cheaper and the quality looks the same to me.
In fact, my TV looks better than my brother's Samsung LCD.

Just have to configure it correctly. For this I suggest "obtaining" a copy of the Monster Calibration DVD for LCD TVs.

Hope this helps a little bit. I would suggest 120hz for BluRay movies if that is your sort of thing.

my opinion:
get a quality brand, however generic models do the same thing, unless you are really concerned with minute picture differences.

I personally own toshiba 120 hz 52" lcd... looks great, sunlite glare isnt too bad with the curtains closed
and a generic emerson 37" lce 720 p games look great on both, but the toshiba does give a better picture.

my suggestion: the new LED... lighter weight, flatter panel, and better picture!
get the biggest size you can afford, the plasma tvs have improved in technology, so those known problems are not as bad but still is a danger and life span is still somewhat shorter than lcd... but no matter what tv u buy many still fall victom to the wiimote thrown at it.
try local stores when they have a promo on something, sometimes you can get financed with no interest! i could have bought the "top of the line" with all the bells and whistles samsung for 2400... no interest/24 months.... but i could not at the time...payments of 100/month ( better than rent to own) later bought the toshiba priced at 1300... paying interest... comes up to about 2200....so its worth the wait and worth a try

fyi: for dvd and blu-ray... the ps3 is fantastic... it does upscale standard dvd to hd... but bluray is still better! but you cant tell the difference on the lower end tv models.

and ignore suggested viewing distances because i have no problem playing on the 52" screen at 5 feet away... 60 would have been even better

I guess you might be right. But that post definitely isn't a convincing one(compared to other ones in the thread). People, such as me, do deserve outdated TV's if they bought them a couple years ago because that's part of why they are outdated(they came out years ago). Can you blame people for not doing extensive amounts of research when they already have a TV and don't buy/update their TV's on a yearly basis? It's also not like a difference from SD to HD(but I guess people should only settle for the best when they can).
