The Red Flowers that open/close in the mazey/forest are evil. Make sure you have fireball psyenergy.
Psyenergy placement (especially for fireball/growth-(the vine) are really important) for the first dungeon.
Yay first boss fight.

It is probably a beta, or incomplete. Sometimes games will have different languages embedded into them. Not exactly sure why, but my thoughts are it's just a start to give the US translators some help in starting the process.
I don't think so, it does have 8 different languages including Japanese for a reason... It also has some pretty weird things like E3 files o_o.
BTW there's a modified version uploaded somewhere (
rolleyes.gif
), but I've not gotten any feedback so far as to whether it works or not.
I'd test it myself but I can't due to my DS being dead and since dslazy trims the rom after repacking I can't test it on emus >:.

Took me about 90 minutes to get stuck between the plot and what I'm supposed to do next. I'd personally say it's best to wait for the english version in a month, otherwise the whole game just becomes a giant puzzle.

Alternatively you can wait for a completed japanese game FAQ and go from there.

Yep, it is indeed huge. But think of the huge amount of spells there are. There are also 72 (or more) djinn to be found. And knowing the first two games, this feller will take a while to beat.

If it's anything like the GBA games, it will push the hardware to the limits and provide a long and fulfilling quest.

And I the only reason most games even reach the 256MB mark is due to FMVs. I'm betting this has more content and less pre rendered video than most.

I'll answer my own post since I realized that it's not that dslazy/dsbuff trim the rom, I think. Some data just isn't unpacked for some reason. I'm pretty sure that if someone had enough patience to hack the files you could have the game in full english, since there are lots of "xxx_1EN.bin" files.

Theoretically since the main logo changed when I flipped the one byte from J to E, that means the game is looking for the "xxx_1EN.bin" files w/ the different header, right? Maybe they really are incomplete... or the bytes aren't ordered properly or something.

My gut feeling is they compiled the Japanese version before the english was complete, but the incomplete files got through since they were still part of the build. Though idk, they had quite a bit of the English done at E3 - maybe there just needs to be some more hacking
 
bleh doesnt work on my cyclods B.4 but it does on my sisters Acekard AKAIO 1.8.1 with the AP bypass thingie

hopefully a patch comes out soon but until then my bought copy will have to suffice >
 
Doesn't work on R4 Wood 1.14.2, I'm getting a black screen. Tried turning off in-game reset and cheats and nothing. Time to wait for a patch, I guess. =P
 
Detailed report on No$zoomer:

-ex0 is required for running the game
-ex3 is required for playable speed
-ex5 is tricky.
with it on, the game runs in smooth speed, but in title/opening movie/summoning movie
the two screen switches rapidly.

with it off, the game is a LITTLE bit lag(but it's fine), but at those 3 places mentioned above,
the screens are simply exchanged(e.g. At title the Name of the game is at the bottom screen......)
And during summon, when th battlefield is shown(ready to show damage),
the rapid switching screens returned.

3D renderer:
-nocash: you know, 3D models becomes ugly or even stripes, thick black line around characters.
everything else is fine.
-opengl: good overall quality, 3D models shows like the game expected.
BUT things like: dialog boxes, name box in stat menu, some stone in the first forest, ALL RUINED.
I can still read the words though. That stone I mentioned just blacked out.

Hoping for some No$PMP or an updated version of No$zoomer......
