Trying to download blocked titles won't get you banned. freeShop doesn't send your 3DS personal info back to the Nintendo server when downloading.

Let me clarify that last point: where you can get banned is if you download in sleep mode in firmware 11.8 because of changes in the NIM system module used in sleep mode.

Oh, ok. I was told that they would be using the new checks as grounds for a ban. Still, the protected games don't function on freeshop, so freeshop's functionality is only going to decrease.

Besides, there are some games that can't be obtained anywhere else except through those CDN downloaders (minus Nintendo eShop). If they're still available, no reason to bar yourself.

Right, but that's a bit user-dependent and the base went downhill during freeshop's prime since freeshop was more convenient. I expect it'll pick up, but will use Villain3DS as a catch-all if the title I seek isn't on there or the links get taken down.

It never went downhill really everything is up to date since alot of people still used it since downloading .cias with fbi was faster then freeshop

I might be judging based on a few obscure titles. I can see how that's faster with leaks or for popular titles, and it's definitely a great source of rom hacks.

Your big and popular games are no problem in finding. The niche and obscure, not so much.

When (or if) freeShop fully dies, those crazy hoarders out there will have do next step in uploading those games, filling the blanks to the 3DS collection.
