Hacking Getting Save games from Pre 4.2 to 4.2

If you try to copy over an old data.bin, it'll say this save file can not be installed on this Wii.

Anyone know how to bypass that?

The game needs to have been played on the wii you're copying to.

hmmm, 2 ideas...

1) do u have the remove copy protection hack on (via startpatch or priiloader)

2) are u sure the game save is for the same region as your wii, ie. is your save for a PAL wii but your console a USA wii?

Yeah, I have the NoCopy removal for 4.2U PriiLoader.

It's a US savegame. European savegames are mostly indicated by an 'P' as fourth letter.

nope, that's USA

(fourth letter is E for USA games, and P for PAL games)

u've deleted the old save off of the wii's memory right?

where did u get the new save file from, maybe its no good. If you or a friend of yours made the new save file, try using save game manager (or bluedump) to copy the new save and use the same app to replace your old save with the new one (save game managers do not save it as a data.bin, but rather as a .sav file i think)
