I have an unmodded PS2 and I'm trying to do this

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=101682

it says i need something that'll let my PS2 read a USB storage device, and I was wondering if I can do the same procedure with my friend's modded PS2 with my USB storage device and memory card, then I won't have to buy that action replay thing.

will this work? or am i going to have to buy it anyhow?

thanks in advance

Did'nt look at link but the only usb things ive got to run on the ps2 (mod wise) is my psp (used for the mem card mod) and ar's usb pen anything just didn't work!!

If your friend has a PS2 with a chip then all you need do is burn a disc with Ulaunch on it and run that to enable you to access the USB ports and run the FMCB installer(you might want to pad it out said disc with some dummy files). If he already has access to Ulaunch via dev modes that's even easier...

Simple answer is that yes a chipped PS2 makes the set up easy, but bare in mind that some chips are incompatible with FMCB so he may need to disable it once you're done to test it out.
