Hello people, im buying a new Graphics card for my computer soon, im getting a ATI radeon HD4670, upgrading from my very outdated x1050 just curious as to if the Hd4670's are any good.

Depending on your resolution its ok.
1440x900 and below its good.
Anything above that and you might have to start lowering details.

I got a 9800GT and have been loving it. L4D2 @ all highest, 1280x1024, 16x anisotropic, 8xAA, looks great. IIRC 4670 is around the 9800GT in performance.

The 4670 is meant to compete with the 9500GT. It's no where near the performance of a 9800GT. The Radeon HD 4850 is a closer competitor to the 9800GT.

On lower resolutions the 4670 should perform okay, you may have to turn settings down. If you can get the 4850 I would recommend it more.

I too would recommend the 4850, right now the price/performance is pretty good, a good midrange GFX card.

I just upgraded to it from an 8600GT, quite a boost.

a general hierarchy list

5870 = GTX295
5850 = GTX285
4890 = GTX275
4870/5770 = GTX260
4860 = ???
4850 = GTS250/9800GTX+
4770 = ???
4830 = 9800GT
4750 = 9600GT
4670 = 9500GT

the reason im going to get a 4670 is that its only $120 and i need to get a new ram stick which is $40 never trusted online stores so im buying it from a local store im only running at 1024x768 because im running an old phillips monitor. it should be right at least. thanks.
