Homebrew Getting a new friend code

I did the DSiWare method to transfer CFW to my n3ds XL and was wondering how to get a new friend code on my 2DS. I heard that doing a system reset gives you a new friend code but I was wondering if doing this would keep my CFW or is there another method for getting one. Thanks in advance.

Yup, formatting gives you a brand new FC. And a system format does not touch your CFW, don't worry.

Thanks, after resetting though things like HBL,FBI and some games aren't on the home menu.

That's normal, those apps/games were installed in the Nintendo 3DS folder on your SD card, under a different ID1 / ID2 path, which corresponded to the system before it was formatted. These games are gone, but FBI and HBL can be reinstalled. Shouldn't Health and Safety still be FBI?

No I had a separate CIA for that but i'll manage
