Genesis Flashback menu problem (ghost movement)

Hi, I recently purchased a used Genesis Flashback 2019 (whit SD card slot), but I've noticed there is an issue in the main menu: the option selector runs left infinitely till I press UP button. Then, the selector stops and I can enter the selected game. When in-game, the issue persists (player walks left all the time).

I've tried the included remotes and an original Genesis wired 3-button gamepad, but the can't resolve the problem. Firmware update doesn't resolve the issue.

Does it do this when no Controllers are plugged in or switched on? This happens on real hardware but that usually down to dirty ports or cracked solder joints. I wouldn't expect that to be the case with the flashback though with it being brand new.

I've recently run into an issue with Boxart not loading when adding a game with the Google button.
