Pokémon Online is a highly popular Pokémon battle simulator. It allows players to battle against Pokémon players from all over the world. It is open-source and versions are available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It's battle engine has all Pokémon, moves, abilities and items. Single, Double, and Triple battles are available. There is an IRC-like chat system, private messages and a tournament system that we hope to use on a regular basis.

A very common use of Pokémon Online is to test-out teams for use in the DS games without going through the hassle and time of EV training or using PokeSav/PokeGen. Though this does not mean you cannot use it just regular play.

Antoligy has kindly offered to host a server for use by GBAtemp members.[/p]

This looks really cool!

Admission: I have never even played Pokemon. Not once (I think that must be some kind of record amongst Nintendo console owners) So many Pokemon games I wouldn't know where to start.

Slightly Off-Topic:
Start at Red/Blue/Yellow version.

Sounds awesome. Just a question, is there any sort of ranking system or do you just battle whoever you want?

By the way, can you use items in this?

There is a ranking system, you can choose whether it gives you rated or unrated matches.
Items in the sense of giving your pokes an item to hold each, yes, but not using max revives, pots or anything like that.
