Homebrew gba save game problem (m3 real)

hi guys, pretty annoying problem here

after getting around 15hrs and being minutes away from completing mario and luigi superstar saga, i saved it and then decided to see if m3 real had a new firmwire

so i put the n ew firmwire on, replaced the cheat database with narins latest one then also tried to get some gbacheats, i ddnt know where to put them so i ut the gbacheat folder into GBA

anyway, i then go back on my ds, play some ds, then decide to get back to superstar saga but the game doesnt load

off/on and th game loads then crashes

off/on and th game crashes again

off/on and the game asks me to select a language and my save games are gone =[

i have no idea what of what i changed might have broken it, any ideas, and any way of getting my save game back?
