Hi ya'll figured I had enough stuff to actually make one of these threads, even though I am missing quite a few of my most wanted carts and a few GBA's.

I only got a Supercard SD, EZ4, M3 SD and M3 CF.
Along with a PassKey2 Passcard 3 and SuperKey (to boot them in NDS mode)

As for GBA's themselves, a shitty GBA and black GBA SP is what I got ;p

I'll snap some pics soon.

I wish my GBA collection wasn't packed away. I've only got my GBM and a couple of carts out just now. Maybe I'll take a couple of photos tomorrow anyway.

It'd be nice to see other peoples' collections too. Especially game collections. :)

Ah, man... Back in the day I had a platinum Advance and a black/silver Micro (which I picked up on clearance for $30. $30!), as well as a beat-up fat DS and a white DS Lite, as well as a bunch of great games (some legit, some counterfeit) and one of those 128M Fire Linker carts from DX.

Well, I wore out the Platinum GBA eventually, and my little brother broke my fat DS a few months after I gave it to him. Ended up selling the Micro and the Lite, as well as most of my carts. I think I still have the Fire Linker, but god knows where that is. All I've got now are a handful of carts and a backlit SP in desperate need of a paint job or full-on reshell.

Not my complete collection, my 1st purple transparent GBA ever, is not in the picture and there are some more games i have bought since the picture was taken.

The "GBA Expansion Pack" is actually a M3 Perfect Lite:gba:

Wow Ozito, incredible GBM collection! Also I am not interested in selling the OG GBA.

Thanks! I'm really happy with my collection, it's still expanding.
I might buy "Klonoa: empire of dreams" this month, not sure since it's a bit expensive.

Nice collection. I've got one of those EFA Linker carts too, and it really is the forgotten gem in GBA flashcarts IMHO. Awesome compatibility, RTC, dead reliable. Not much capacity, but I only play a couple games at a time anyway.

If you ever have read/write failures with it, clean the micro-usb port on the cart and your cable terminals with some electronics contact cleaner. (available at Radio Shack)

I believe mine is a knock off, FAST was talking about a lot of them that were sold now are usually knock off's, out of all my carts, the only one I have ever used was the EZIV, mostly because its easiest to work with, the reason I'm collecting so many however, is that I am using them for research for my senior design project, a new, much improved GBA flash cart. I really wish I would be able to get my hands on a M3 cart, that would probably be what I want to base mine off of, but I havent even seen on go for sale since I started collecting, I had a good shot at a EZ-III DEV cart, but the user on here, JayRo, suddenly stopped messaging me, and I believe he sold it to someone else. A damn shame and honestly, it makes me pretty upset that he wouldnt at least tell me what was going on. Once mine is completed and tested I intend to send it to FAST for a review, then maybe a few others, if everyone likes/wants one, then I may look into producing them.

Darkipod,

yeah, after I looked at your pictures again, my guess would be that your EFA Linker is one of the knockoffs that were being sold for a while after production of the original cart ended. From what I recall, function is about the same, but no RTC. The reason I guessed yours was a knockoff was the USB cable ... I can see yours is black, but the real EFA Linkers came with 2 transparent USB cables (1 short, 1 long). Even more interesting and unconventional, it came in a solid wooden box. It wasn't heirloom quality or anything, but that's just weird when most everything else like this is packaged in a cardboard box or a molded plastic bubble.

Good luck on the GBA cart design. I'll surely buy one if it goes into production, I need something new.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
