So what does the EEPROM comment mean? Does it auto-patch games that use EEPROM, or add the ability to save/restore EEPROM saves, or both? I'd test it myself but I don't have any GBA games handy.

Oh wow, that's pretty awesome. I assume this works on any flash cart, right?
Probably any card with DLDI

Has anyone tried/is anyone willing to try this with Tales of Phantasia? I was able to backup both my cartridge and its save file successfully, but when I try to run them on my EZ-3in1, the save file never gets linked to the rom. I'm using an AK2 with AKAIO firmware. So far I've just been renaming the save to match the convention the firmware's using, but I dunno what else to do.
I'm having the same problem with using sav files on my EZ 3-in-1 Expansion Pak using GBA ExpLoader, perhaps the VBScript 'program' will make it work, it's included with the download, in the EEPROM_cnv (something like that) folder, I haven't actually tried it yet.

Compatibility with EEPROM savs or something, the VBScript thing might be the only update to make the savs usable (I guess)

edit: tried that VBScript converter on the sav file, and it still doesn't work right

So after I dump the game on my Slot-1, I need to patch it with my slot-2 proggy and then convert the .sav for my slot-2, then slap both files on my slot-2 to play?
[clarification]

That would be correct.
Dunno if you actually have to convert the save, I haven't yet dumped any saves.

Edit: Just tried it.
I only had to patch the rom, just stuck the save in my SAVER folder. This is on an EZ-Flash IV.

Do the rom and the sav have the exact same file name (aside for mone being .gba and one bing .sav)

Went back again and sure enough I was missing some caps. Thanks for that. I may actually finish this game now...

We're already having this problem, and I'm too lazy to make a new image, and jph is on a mac with no image editing software, only thing to do is remove the image

edit: now that I think about it, perhaps I could just put a microSD card there on the left of the R4, or just remove the R4 and only have the MicroSD card

So does this baby let u play GBA games you dumpped from the real thing on ur Flashcard with nothing in Slot-2 Afterwards or just backs it up?
It dumps roms and savs, and it can also restore savs. Hence the name, backup tool.
Aawesoome!!!!

What I just wanted like, half year before! Thaaanks!!

Perhaps picture of retail cart -> picture of DS's Slot-1 [BACKUP]
............picture of a gba file icon -> picture of slot-2 flashcart [PLAY]
in one image? maybe with the bracketed words in red to the side.

would this be able to back up a working version of DBZ legacy of goku II for the ezflash 3in1?
Chances are yes.
Chances are no. The Legacy of Goku games are extremely finicky about having the right save type; there's nothing wrong with the current dumps of them, and redumping them won't cause them to behave any differently. Your flash cart will still use SRAM.

At least I'm pretty sure Rudolph's tool doesn't refit flash carts with EEPROM chips, but I haven't tested it myself so you should check with somebody else.
