I did this same thing on my series 1 ds and the shell i bought from ebay was shit, the buttons where too small for the shell and they changed the prongs on the inside so i couldn't use my old buttons, when buying a replacement shell you have to be careful because most of them are molded wrong, or are of very shitty quality.
