Hacking Gateway exploit without blue card

Hi all

We have a gateway card that I have been using for a while now but unfortunately lost the blue counterpart and my son decided to change something on his 3DS (4.5 FW), which has meant that you can no longer access the gateway card from profile.

Does anybody know if it would be possible to reinstall the exploit via another card as I have managed to get hold of a TTDS card but not had any luck?

Also tried via the gateway site but it just freezes.

Any help greatly appreciated.

You mean the DSTT Card? That shooooould work. the bluecard is just a DS romcart, but I'm not sure of the specifics about what the expoit uses.

Have you tried just plopping the bluecard files on it and seeing if that'd work?

Also, since this is your first post, are you aware of the current scene developments? With a9lh and the like?

Thanks, I had been on that site before but thought I would see if I could get the gateway back to work for the time being before attempting that

Thanks for your reply. Oooops, sorry the DSTT card. Yup I placed GW_INSTALLER.nds, _DSMENU.DAT & __rpg folder on the a microSd card and then plugged the cart in but it just says 'there is nothing inserted into the game card slot'. The card works fine on the DS though.

Apologies, I haven’t kept up with the scene developments at all. My son just did what I told him never to do, which was enable wifi and changed some settings. Luckily he didnt update the FW but currently stuck without his 3DS.

Hi,

afaik the DSTT is only compatible with: Nintendo DS, DS lite.
You need a nds Card that is compatible with the 3ds like 3DSTT, r4i-sdhc, ...

If you get one, you have to put the firmware files of that card and the GW_INSTALLER.nds to the mircosdcard of your nds flashcard.

There were once some threads with mset setup via spider but cant find one adhoc

Is there any other way to get the exploit back on so he can use he gateway card again? I read about online but it just freezes the 3DS. I also have a blue button 3DS card. Would that help to get the exploit on?

Try this guide and copy the bluecard files to your 3DS's SD card. I used to do this with RXTools so I think it should work for GW.

Follow all the steps as written except for

20.) Transfer the DSiHomebrew channel (boot.nds), to the root of your SD card.

Copy the .nds file from the blue card download instead.

If it looks too complicated, consider installing a9lh - it is very easy and the guide is incredibly basic and step by step. Sudokuhax is very old and you'll have a very hard time finding anyone who can even remember doing it let alone help you troubleshoot if you can't work anything out. Whereas if you post a question about a9lh in the noob paradise thread, chances are you'll get a reply within five minutes.
