Hacking Gateway, downgrading a system and the Profile exploit?

I had a question on downgrading a system because I do not want to use the online method to boot into the Gateway games. I want to use the offline profile exploit.

I am working with a 3DS XL running 7.0 firmware

My question is this... once I downgrade to 4.2, and I want to install the profile exploit, do I have to use the old Omega files to install that exploit OR can I just use the 3.4 Ultra Launcher.dat file and gain access to the profile exploit?

Always use the latest files even if you downgrade to 4.x

OK. So the Ultra firmware has a Blue Card exploit files as well?

I have to install that first still in order to use the profile exploit?

Why not use the rxtools/reinand method that installs MSET for you, can patch the MSET fix out, and doesn't require dropping as far as 4.2?

New to this all. Not sure what that is.

Plus, I just downgraded to 4.2. So that is already done.

After I do the profile exploit, I was going to do the EmuNand to have a dual boot system.

Thought that would give me the best options.

OK. So it looks like I am doing everything right.

Did you make a nand backup. I'd do that first and store it somewhere safe, and then make an emuanand and back up the 4.2 emunamd somewhere safe. And then update the emunand. It never hurts to make a backup of the emunand every time you update it.

Got a backup of my normal systems 4.2 nand. But, didn't think of making one for the emunand.
