Hi,

What is exactly the problem with the latest e-shop titles that keep Gateway from launcing them as 3ds-rom?
For example the latest picross e6 stays at the 3ds logo screen and needed to be 'crackfixed' and installed as cia.
I just did that with some idiot-proof walkthrough but have no idea what I am doing.

So why can't gateway start that game? Is that something they can't fix or do I need to be patient and wait for new version of GW-firmware (difficult!!! :-))

Didn't they fix that with update 3.4?

Today we are proud to present a new firmware update: Gateway Ultra 3.4!

Summary:
* Fixed new antipiracy check
* Improved firmware spoofing

After we noticed issues surrounding some of the latest game backups not functioning
as 3DS files but working just fine as CIA files, we decided to investigate.

What we discovered was truly remarkable: a new kind of antipiracy check! Yes, that’s right!
This took us five minutes to fix and here we are today.

nope, that was a AP check that is used on newer retail carts, the eshop issue is down to encryption, here is a good explination of why gateway cannot "fix" it
FWIW, Gateway will never be able to fix this. It's like zipping up a .3ds ROM with a password, sharing the zip to your friend, but not telling the password. Gateway just will never be able to know the password that you chose at random.

This isn't something that Gateway can fix, it's up to the release groups to make proper *complete* dumps.

basically newer eshop games use a additional layer to their encyption, its down to the dumper to retrieve the seed (extra key) from their nand and create a crypto fixed version
